Texas Nursery & Landscape Association Summit Award
Recognizes a member firm that has made significant, exceptional contributions to the Texas Nursery & Landscape Association and its member firms. The Summit Award is the highest honor bestowed by TNLA on a member firm. The firm successful in achieving the Summit Award exemplifies the Association’s ideals: innovation, service, and highly ethical behavior in the way it conducts its affairs.
Motivated, energetic, and involved member firm and firm associates;
Actively participates in state and regional efforts of TNLA
Supports TNLA efforts through generous contributions of time and financial means
Participates in TNLA Education and Certification programs
Actively seeks to increase participation in TNLA and TNLA events
Exhibits cooperative skills and a desire and ability to present successful programs and/or support successful TNLA initiatives
Exemplifies the values of the association within the profession;
Presents an extraordinary view of the values of the association in the community at large, among professional organizations, local businesses, and the industry.
Submission Requirements
A one-page nomination letter or statement by the TNLA member initiating the nomination on behalf of another TNLA member (no self-nomination);
A one-page nomination letter or statement by the Region Chairman, State Board, or Region Director;
Nomination letters/statements received prior to May 15th of each year will be vetted by the Executive Committee who will, when appropriate, recommend qualified candidates to continue in the award nomination process, which includes:
Completed award application;
A biography of the candidate not to exceed two pages; a statement of contributions should be included in the biography;
Exhibits in support of the nominee that best demonstrate the outstanding accomplishments; and
A maximum of three letters of support by those who know the quality of the nominee’s work or service; letters should be explicit in their recommendation and contain specific reasons for support.
Completed award applications submitted prior to June 1st will be reviewed by the TNLA Board of Directors who will then determine (by secret ranking) which member company will receive the award. The award will be presented (as a surprise) at the TNLA Awards Dinner in August.
The award will only be given if the executive committee of the board recognizes a qualified candidate among the nominations. Award does not need to be given every year.
To nominate a TNLA Member Firm, just send us an email with the name of the firm, the owner and associates involved, and a description of the firm's efforts to support TNLA and the Green Industry.
Submissions must received by May 1st of each calendar year.
