General Responsibilities:

• Supervision and development of personnel, training, scheduling, maintenance, and improvement of greenhouse equipment and systems.
• Knowledge and execution of mandated compliance programs concerning pesticide applications and storage. Texas pesticide applicators license must be maintained or acquired within 3 months.
• Working through and with growing staff to establish and maintain appropriate crop environments, mist programs, fertilization, irrigation, pest and disease management.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Motivate, educate, train & manage staff
• Oversee daily operations
• Analyze staffing needs for season, assist with hiring
• Manage labor costs, create weekly staff schedule, review & adjust daily
• Manage organization, cleanliness and displays of garden center & sales staff areas
• Work with buyer to maintain proper inventory levels, assist with selection of sale items
• Review purchase orders, prepare/shift garden center for new arrivals
• Supervise inventory maintenance, including pest management
• Manage signage in nursery
• Keep garden news and information handouts current
• Supervise flow of invoices and delivery tickets from nursery to office staff
• Manage garden center deliveries & plantings
• Manage bank drops
• Notify facility manager of needed repairs
• Request assistance from landscape department as needed
• Submit safety report to owner monthly
• Supervise security of property

The job is 5 days a week, 8-9 hours a day including weekends during busy season. We offer health insurance, paid holidays & personal days, and SEP.

Candidate should have the following:

1. Thorough understanding of the garden center business & willingness to take charge
2. Minimum 3 years experience in a garden center
3. Prior management experience

Heart of Texas Landscape & Irrigation Co., Inc. is currently seeking a permanent full time position as a Construction Quality Control Manager

Education: Texas Licensed Irrigator

Essential Functions:

• Pull permits on all projects
• Submit necessary Dig Tess
• Act as a liaison between city inspectors and Heart of Texas Landscape & Irrigation
• Execute drawings necessary to complete all irrigation work
• Execute backflow tests on all installed irrigation systems (Once Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification is completed post hiring)
• Perform material takeoffs
• Adjust heads
• Monitor inventory regularly

Experience Required:

• Previous work in irrigation field
• Clear & Valid Texas Driver License (Class C)

Abilities / Skills:

• This position will require physical abilities: Walking, standing, sitting, stooping, climbing, bending, & lifting 10 lb. bags etc.
• Ability to successfully manage client relationships
• Works well in a team environment

We currently have a position for a General Manager who will be responsible for managing the operations of the plant, including production management, office management, negotiations for raw materials, interaction with state and city regulators. This is an opportunity to become part of a company with a long history of annual growth.

Responsibilities & Duties:

The General Manager will report directly to the president of New Earth. The GM will have total responsibility of the plant including office staff. He will be responsible to interact with any state or city officials/regulators. GM is responsible for the negotiations for any raw materials. All production employees will report directly to the GM. The General Manager will have interaction with the sales team however, sales team will report directly to the director of sales.

Skill & Qualifications:

This candidate must have a minimum of a bachelors degree. Must have management experience, be a self starter and highly motivated. Possess good organizational and leadership skills. Experience in the composting or mulching business is not mandatory but preferred.

Salary: Negotiable competitive salary with lucrative benefit package. Relocation package is possible.
