Why?

TNLA is proud to help today's students get a jump start in building a career in the Green Industry. By partnering with the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo, students are given the opportunity to win scholarships through the Landscape Challenge and the Landscape Skillaton. These Programs not only provide opportunity and experience to students, but also showcases the beauty and value of landscaping to the public.
All students are encouraged to participate and submit their applications before the deadlines for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. 

Landscape Challenge

This is a team competition for Texas 4-H and FFA members. Students will be tested on their landscape design skills and knowledge of plants, plant pests and diseases. The Landscape Challenge will culminate with a final round of landscaping plots on the grounds which will be an attraction for the general public during the entire Stock Show & Rodeo. Scholarships up to $12,000 will be awarded.
 

Landscape Skillathon

This hands-on and interactive competition challenges exhibitors regarding their knowledge of landscape design concepts. Elements will include a written exam, identification stations, and skill stations on topics such as plant identification, fertilizer information, landscape design, and insect and disease identification.
Scholarships up to $10,000 will be awarded.
