Respect and serve every member. Members are the reason for our work, and each member merits the utmost respect and the finest customer service. We must strive to meet their needs and exceed their expectations. Our members are critically important to TNLA.
See the big picture. To best serve the interests of members, learn what TNLA products and services are available outside your area of responsibility. Remember, membership is the responsibility of all staff.
Report what you hear. Keep track of what members say by making a "note" and reporting it to the appropriate staff person immediately.
Members are the purpose of our work. They are not interruptions. The same is true for co-workers seeking assistance. As TNLA staff, we are all part of the same team, working for the same goals. We take personal responsibility to ensure that all members, potential members, and staff receive timely, efficient, and professional responses to their needs.
Take ownership. If you receive a request or complaint from a member, resolve the situation, prevent a repeat, or find the staff person who can. Helping a member may mean walking them somewhere rather than sending them to "the third office on the left." Do everything you can to never lose a member. Be a goodwill ambassador for TNLA. Always talk positively about members and co-workers. No negative comments. Always keep in mind that the first impression you give to members and co-workers will last.
