Exams will be based on information contained in the TCLP Manual, TNLA Best of Texas Landscape Guide, plus practical knowledge gained from experience in the industry. Submitted fees are non-refundable. Also fees are forfeited if the Committee determines that the applicant does not meet the stated qualifications. Any exception to the fee non-refund policy requires a two-thirds vote of the Committee. Applicant must make a grade of at least 75% on the General Section of the examination to attain the status of TCLP and also a 70% on the Plant ID and Plant Characteristics sections.

Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCLP)For individuals in the nursery/landscape industry cultivating a high degree of knowledge and skill in horticulture and landscape development. Requires 16 hours of CEU credits every two years completed before the Certification renewal date. Professional is required to take three sections for this exam. Must take exam 90 days after date of purchase.

Exam Retest$85 Member | $145 Non-Member
If an applicant fails any section of the exam he/she may be retested up to two times, within 12 months of the original exam date, on the section(s) failed. If all retest sections are not passed within the 12-month period, the entire exam must be retaken at full price.

Renewals$85 Member | $145 Non-Member
Each certificate holder will be notified sixty days prior to the expiration date that their certification will expire unless an enclosed renewal form is returned to the TNLA office accompanied by the proper renewal fee and proof of required 16 hours of CEUs on or before the expiration date. Failure to respond will result in revocation of certification.
